First Medal of the year – Winkle ‘The Wonder’ pipped for first

23 April, 2013 by Hew 1 Comment

Winkle at the Ryder CupWe are certainly wondering about Mr Winkle, who’s recent form as gone from strength to strength.  Combination of a new driver, decent iron shots and doing the job when he gets to the greens.  Next stop single figures.

Browsing the Master Scoreboard today, as usual wondering if I’d made the buffer zone, I see that Mark was narrowly pipped by Tom Austin, who himself shot a fantastic par round to grab a nett 67.  Well done Tom.  Hot on the tails of Wayne’s exceptional scoring reduction the other month, Winkle is now been given similar treatment and is off 16.  Congratulations.

Swashbucklers made up half of the top10 on Sunday’s first Medal of the year (though we were missing the machines of Feasey, Doran & Jaggs amongst others).  Pretty good show all round.

No news on Lee and Simon’s marathon, if either would like to post up anything on the boards let me know.

Well done Mark. Now the real challenge is to play to 16 every week!

I think congratulations should go to Al for finishing 5th in the order of merit; our top Swashbuckler. Surely Al should be playing off 12 by the end of the summer???
