Taken in Tenerife this week, Phil and Simon saw this and thought of someone…. “answers on a postcard”?
British weather eh! In the last few days we’ve had the warmest Halloween on record at 23.1, had a washed out comp and this week the temperatures are dropping to single figures.
We managed to have a half decent day on Saturday, overcast but played in t-shirts by some of us. Matt Strong’s form continued as he took the Saturday Swindle with 35 points.
Sunday was always due to be fairly miserable and wet. Most of us started after 8am and we did see about 7-8holes in reasonably ok weather. However half way through down it came and didn’t stop for about 90mins. My three-ball of BackDoor and Matt Strong received a text on the 15th green saying the comp was off. We didn’t believe it until we looked around and saw the whole course empty.
It wasnt a happy clubhouse; David Fielding carded a decent score, Wayne was doing well, JC on handicap and various in-game bets being scrubbed. Lots of grumbling despite the weather but admittedly some of the greens were very quickly waterlogged and made some scoring (not all) a bit of a lottery.
Weather seemed to be better in Tenerife (hardly a shock) where a mini-tour was happening. Don’t know the details, but I see who went from the picture below. Looks terrible.
