Tour Report posted on behalf of Mr Graham Adams

portugal-jolly-boys-Oct2014

Back row: Graham, Prit, Colin, Some Gangster, Yeti, Wayne Front Row: Baz, Martin, Mushi, Dave, Stevie , Bob

Jim’s weather report of rain thunder and lightning happily proved wide of the mark it was wall to wall sunshine with the occasional burst of clouds as the pictures show.

The golfing standards in general  were not as high as we would have liked, but the competition was fierce with only 20 points separating first and last in the singles comp, Mick taking the roll of dishonour to heart and taking out revenge on his favourite shirt for letting him down (he only lost by 2 points). Prit came out on top , leading from wire to wire, Wayne after a poor start stormed through the pack to end up second with Barry and myself taking up joint third. The pairs was won by Mushtaq and Prit and the par 3’s and 5’s was taken by Dave.
Bob won Learner Driver of the Year after crashing his buggy into my golf bag and trolley, well ex trolley by the time it was extracted from under the wheels of the buggy. Hopefully someone will have the picture of Bob and Mick flying their “learner flag” for the remainder of the week. Amazingly enough nobody got in their way for the rest of the holiday! Sadly there are no pictures of me spending hours brillo padding the tyre marks off of my new white golf bag!

Strangely there was no karaoke thus year but nobody told Wayne and his singing in the 19th Hole bar was well forgettable. Steve almost managed to stay sober – occasionally and Mushtaq managed to putt sometimes.  Brian found a lovely fresh fish restaurant miles from anywhere and took everyone there on Sunday – when it was shut. Colin …..well Colin was a legend. Mick may have come last but as always was the life and sole of the team, Christine we sympathise!

And before we go any further….

Magnificent Mick, just.... magnifient

Magnificent Mick, just…. magnificent (story to follow I hope)
