“Text book”, well at the 2nd go

18 September, 2017 by Hew Leave a Comment

Quiet weekend of Swindles, with several on tour and others away or working.  Only 7 on Saturday so it was unofficial but Boney still managed the win with a solid 36pts I believe. Well done Mr Bone.

Been able to witness some cracking shots recently, Scottie stiffing his rescue wood to inches on the par5 12th last month, Tweedy holing out for eagle from the bank on the 9th the other week.  Had another one to add in the mix Saturday.

Playing Bryan Hogben and Brian Chamberlain, the Yeti caught a stinker after pulling his drive into the left bunker on the 2nd.  Attempt one didnt really go as planned and from the image below, I unfairly took a pic as he unleashed his first swing only progressing a slightly dirty ball a few yards in front of him.

Unperturbed, he strode further forward into the bunker and utterly pinged an 8iron from the sand up to barely 2inches from the hole.  Despite Bryan and I being beside our balls, and his clearly beside the hole, he still believed Bryan when he said he had cleared the green.  After nearly walking to the next tee to find it, we had to remind our Bri that we were in a  3ball and it was his ball basically hanging over the lip of the hole.  Some par Bri.

Textbook?  1st go possibly not… but 2nd made up for it

Sunday we had 10 in the bet, with 3 guests… Mini-Me, and prospective new Swindlers Lee and Rob.  Not often we have over 40pts in the Swindle, cue various noises from all, but well done to Ian for hoovering up front, back and overall returning with 41.  Well done Mr Fowler, lets see that handicap tumble.
