Swindle ko 2017: Snashers takes on Simon c

A tough 1st round draw saw me play defending champ Simon Christian but as I have been playing well I was looking forward to it.

Playing behind the Captain and Pro challenge, Simon pulled his 2nd shot into the trees, 1 up to me. A 3 on the 3rd was good enough for me to go 2 up, followed by a couple of halfs. Simon won the 6th on a shot, then made long putt on the 7th for a half in 3.
I won the 8th with par to go back to 2 up and halved the 9th with a 4 to Simon’s nett 4.

2 up at the turn.

I won 10 and halved 11 and 12, Simon made a good putt to win 13, then we were both on the edge of the 14th in 3. Simon was up against the collar and didn’t quite get all of the ball leaving himself a 15 footer. I then chipped stiff and Simon missed, back to 3 up.
On 15 my drive was just short of the bunker on the left but I was blocked out by the tree. With Simon’s drive in the right hand bunker, I played my shot of the day and drew an 8 iron around the tree to 8′ from the hole. Simon did not get down in 4 and conceded for a 4 and 3 win.

The main difference today was Simon didn’t quite have his driver going and it left him a lot to do. With me playing strongly, he made a couple of very good putts to keep himself in the game.

Next up, Mr Loveless
