Familiar pic, Al and Bohwon from this year’s club champs
… and Bohwon wins Ladies’ Presidents Salver
Well at least I can re-use the Club Champ winner’s picture at least!
So another win for Swashbuckler Al Tweed! Last Sunday, this year’s men’s club champ turned in a stunning round off the blues of 2under gross. 5 birdies, with just 3 bogeys (with one of them on the 18th) saw Al take the overall win in the last major of the year with a superb 42pts. Great golf.
Another fantastic late summer day. Late twenties, but not too sticky. I wasn’t taken with the plan for preferred lies for the major comp – I can obviously see the benefit to avoid the penalty of fairway divots, but it perhaps more a comment on how the course is being treated that we even need preferred lies at the very start of September!
Aaaanyway, nothing much from our 3ball of Jaggsy, myself and Simon G. Simon had no luck with bounces and a couple of balls lost in the lush rough. I eventually dropped a couple of putts on the back nine but none of us came close to the top10.
Some great scores out there. Greens were ‘ok’ butr I’d hoped for better given the prime time of year. Certainly some concern over their condition… really do need an ironing and the back of the first green especially looks in very poor state.
And well done Bohwon
In a reduced field, Bohwon came out on top with 30pts, pipping Margaret and Bronwen. Ladies comp have been limited but you still have win, well done!
