In a cold (and a bit wet) late November Sunday Stableford, we had a cracking result for the Swashbucklers. Unforcasted drizzle didnt help much, but certainly it didn’t stop Al Gollop and Saville turn in some cracking cards.
Last group out Al Gollop took top honours with 39 points with Al Saville coming in with 38. Scottie Yule came in fourth with an excellent 36 (off of 5). Scott topped the gross scores with 77 and myself and Graham following him in with 81’s.
(Result of the day is probably Al G himself now playing off 12.5, avoiding the 0.1 extra handicap cut that will no doubt please our Ryder Cup capitano’s).
It makes the Order of Merit more interesting. 6 Swashbucklers feature in the top10 makes fantastic reading. Al Gollop breaks into the top10 with Sunday’s result and Stu Massey deservedly sits well on top. The dark dangerous horse that is Al Saville is making a determined charge up there pushing down the hapless Loveless and Whitefoord down into 3rd and 4th respectively. Nice.
