Lots of booked tee time over the festive period so posts will be sporadic at best.
Young Peter won the Swindle yesterday. Well done chap. Perhaps we need to consider if this appropriate a Junior as we are at the end of the day an adult Swindle, but that aside, well played Peter!
A decent number headed out yesterday in 5 groups. Worthy of a few lines is our game of myself and mighty Colin Town, taking on Mr “Just-one-C” Loveless and Lee “la macchina” Snashfold (aka The Machine). We went 3 up, then lost the next 3… and it was nip and tuck for the rest of the round.
After CC and I knocked in decent putts towards the end of the round we were dormie 2 (or ‘dormy’ if you like), Colin and I needed to find a way to finish it off.
Shock horror, Lee pulled his tee shot by at least 5yards off centre going down the 17th. A whole five yards. So from the left side he had a pitch of about 130-140yards in and proceeded to hole it. An awesome eagle and we mustve put off Rubs and Bubba Hance on the 14th tee with our high-fives. Momentum swing and they safely won the 18th after I dunked a 9iron into the drink and Colin managed to thin a chip through the green and into the hedge.
Halved match, felt like a loss. Well done Lee (oh and Graham I suppose). Cracking game.
Kitchen I’m afraid again didnt cover themselves in any glory putting unwanted mushrooms in Lee’s first omelette (returned) and being a bit light on the chips. Really not good enough.
