One temporary green at Swinley Forest Golf Club yesterday for Surrey Chamber of Commerce November fixture.
That itself wasn’t too bad being positioned right at the front of the large 1st green. Swinley is a top members club rated in the worlds top100, and always a popular fixture in the society rota. Bit of a pity we play it in November, obviously seasonal conditions affect the play and we tend to go off slightly forward yellow tees. GrahamAd and Brian were out first in a 2two ball followed by myself Grant and Grant’s guest Phil.
Greens were very saturated – really shouldn’t have been playing on them but we managed to get round ok and got very lucky with the weather.
Some quality “society scoring” on the day. In guest prizes, Grant only came in 3rd with 44pts (!)… He had 23pts back nine but was still beaten on countback(!) by a 4 handicapper scoring 4 under gross. Guest winner was a slightly sheepish 20handicapper with 47 points! 11 better than his “handicap” 🙂
Members scoring was equally good, winner was a youngish lad with 46points off of 20 as well I think.
