Snow way we were playing
The two Ryder Cup matches were snowed off this weekend. Snow wasnt particularly thick on the ground but it doesnt has to be to make putting impossible, let alone finding balls off the tee.
Throw in the fact that snow tends to hang around Surrey National for a few days it wasnt looking good for any play over the weekend despite forecasted rain.
With a misbehaving car I couldn’t do a long journey, but of those who turned up, Sean and Phil started looking for open courses and managed to find a game on the south coast for the afternoon!
Selfies at Seaford Head

A cracking round at Seaford Head, great weather, no rain, snow or wind.
Chris and me beat Dean and Sean 3 and 2, , I got 38 points, fab day, I’m going to book a time for tomorrow just in case.
Finding the sand at the Addington on Sunday
Early Sunday, with the Original’s game also called off, we managed to arrange 3 tee times at the Addington which although had some lying snow, it was open. A round dozen turned up and we had a pairs game with a fiver in.
Some ropey golf all round but a few highlights – the conditions were quite tough. Greens looked quite good but upclose were extremely soft and saturated making them very inconsistent (thats my excuse for two 4putts).
JC was on fire with some excellent steady golf with 20points on the front, and despite a few iffy holes came back with 16. 36 wouldve won the overall, but playing pairs JC had the unmistakable Jezzza alongside him and despite beating myself and Graham A on the last hole, came out just behind Winkle and Brian C who took the money. Well done them.
