A field of 40 grumpy old men moaning about the thought of rain looming in a distance!
Nevertheless, we started in fine weather from 3 starting holes 1st ,10th, & 17th and we probably got halfway through our match before the fine drizzle started but enough for my playing partners to put on their waterproofs., unlike myself who only had a brolly as had not heard the weather forecast, still a little fragile from Sunday‘s celebrations.
The match was as nearly as slow as the day before, having to wait nearly every hole after starting on the 17th was all ok until we reached the second and was held up from then on. The outcome from this was some very good scoring from the old duffers with John Belton scoring 86 with a net of 66, David Ogram second 83 with net 68 & Graham Jackson 82 net 70 winning lowest gross score well done one and all.
The swashbucklers only had two members playing yours truly came in lucky number 7 having played some nice golf and then the usual scuffs & duffs 94 gross 72 net and Bob McNally two little ducks 22nd 96 gross net 76 we both should have done better .
Better Luck next Year.
Best Regards
Jezza
