Mushi in 2nd place, alongside the relieved winner, Scottie. Nice cheesey pose mate.
One of our majors today and Scottie secured the Blue Bogey beating the course 3-up and returning a gross 73.
Blue Bogey is basically matchplay against the course off the blue tees, and historically (but not always) it has favoured the slightly higher handicap. Indeed our Northern Petal was pipped by a certain Winkle a couple of years ago, sat as clubhouse leader for ages until the last group came in with the aforementioned Winkle in it!
So it was another nervous wait today, rumours (well, more like chinese whispers) of scores drifted around and suprising us all Mr Loveless (complete with his large black shorts) was suggested to be 5up at one point. A certain Dan Tullymonster was 4up after 5 at the start and yes even Mr Lovely was 3up at one stage. However Graham’s score was slightly wide of the mark as it turned out and whilst Mushi ran him very close coming in 2up (who was actually in the last group), Scottie did take first place and a ‘uge bundle of Order of Merit points.
Well done chief.
I was out with Dom and Danny… and whilst we enjoyed the company, the golf was less fun. Untimely bogey’s for me fighting a hangover, and snapping my 8iron shaft on a follow through on the first hole didn’t help. Danny didn’t have his best day off the tee, but Dom hit some very nice drives and managed to smash a putt in from way off the back of the 10th green onto the pin and down into the cup… as it was surely hurtling off the green towards the far bunker. Think the pin is still shaking from the impact.
