Scott burns up Surrey National

7 July, 2013 by Hew Leave a Comment

improve-puttingMonthly Stableford today and with the soaring temperatures, the scoreboard saw some cracking scores with 6 Swashbucklers in the top ten.  Scott, myself, Graham A, Phil, Winkle, and Lee all featuring in the first 10, with the weather up to a fantastic 30degrees in just a light breeze – a great day for golf.

I thought I’d come in with a decent round, notching up 44 and coming in as runner up, but I’m just chuffed to come in 2nd to an absolute fantastic round of 46 points by Scott – off a handicap of 6 thats 68 gross!  A bogey on the first followed by 17 holes of pars and a total of 5 birdies.  I’m sure not many have beaten or come close to that this year, it’d be good to know.  Saturday’s Stableford, in similar conditions, saw the winner come in with 39, putting Scott’s awesome
round in some context.  Tidy darts.
