Sad News – Grant Adley

1 April, 2017 by Hew Leave a Comment

Grant preparing himself before one of the last round he was able to play at Surrey National

Wayne shared the very sad news today that Grant passed away yesterday.

Most of the Swindle will remember Grant who has not been played in recent years due to respiratory problems.  I played with Grant almost continiously for the first few months when I joined the Swindle – always chipper and upbeat in the face of poor health, quite a ‘snazzy’ dresser in odd shirts and ropey green shorts (!), and never shy about sharing an inappropriate joke or three during the round.  He would have appreciated our great Swindle performance in today’s Ryder Cup Finals Day. Only this week a few of us were makes plans to go to his 60th party in July.

Sincere condolences to his family from all of the Swashbucklers.

Grant
