Fine rain windy, cold, carry only -we had a plan!

Bobs Bashers have proved themselves to be a hard nut to crack taking out Swashbucklers and Early Bird Eagles this year and are the current holders of the Ryder Cup. This was never going to be easy and so it proved. With a half, 2 wins and a loss in the pairs half way through things were looking good. Mustaq making an unbelievable birdy on the 12th chipping in down the slope by the trees knocked the stuffing out of Bob English and Graham Payne, but fair play to them for coming back from 4 down before loosing to us on the 18th.
The singles games were all very close affairs Brian Chamberlain and Graham Loveless’s games were interesting with 3 of the 4 balls going in the water on the 18th! Asif came back from 4 down to halve his match and Simon clearly got bored with playing the 18th conventionally putting his approach shot level with the pin but in the rough on the other side of the lake. Must try that one sometime soon as he won his game! The singles finished 2 halves, one loss one win, very well done everyone.
So what was the plan? Well I could tell you, but with a tough game coming up I’m not going to let the cat out of the bag yet. Clearly its working as we are undefeated (the only undefeated team this year) and currently sit as club house leaders in the Ryder Cup. (Whilst level on points with Bashers as we’ve bashed them up – we lead.)
Early Bird Eagles get an early bath……watch this space.
