Mr Feasey smashes February Stableford

20 February, 2018 by Hew Leave a Comment

Lee Feasey

Cracking weather across both days this weekend. Spring-like sunshine in mid February and we were down to two light layers and even t-shirts on Saturday.  Unfortunately, the pins were in the same place as last week yet again, and despite them looking ok and recently spiked, by not moving the pins the greens were quite bobbly from traffic and obviously very soft from the recent mild and damp weather.

Saturday

A healthy turnout for Saturday’s Swindle. Asif cleaned up with 38points and a bit of an up n’ down day for Jackson who’s 2under gross featured a fantastic 8birdies. Top golf.  Meanwhile Jaggsy and I went down 4&3 to a determined teamYule in the Winter Greensomes. Well done to them, a very nice chip in from Mini-me on the 15th to seal it for them.

Haydn smashed his way to lead on Saturday in the comp returning 38points, pipping Gabriel by 1 point and Baz Sweetman a shot further back.  23 on the back Baz?  Very tidy.  Worth waving your mobile phone in my face for that!

Sunday

Sunday saw a slight swagger from Mr Feez as he headed out with Al Lampost in the group before myself, Simon B and James Murtagh.  “I’m going to go out and shoot 40points” was his claim in the clubhouse…. and so it proved.

A top level-par round from Lee and he scooped the overall and saw a cut down to 3.4 … his lowest handicap to date I believe so big congrats on hitting 3!

Order of Merit

It makes the Order of Merit more interesting.

The Pistols’ Always-Dangerous Dan D is now on top by just one point from Lee Feez.  Al Savs is only one further point behind.  3points between top3.

Bit of daylight between Luke in 4th and Scottie and I further back again.  However, with the new OoM format of being able to discard lowest rounds for the ‘best of 16’, we could see some big movement up and down the table – it’ll be good to see how things shake out in the next couple of months.  *cough* more Medals!
