“I’m the only golfer in the world who as the feeling of greatness“
I’ve posted about Moe Norman before, and I always come back time and again to watch videos about him.
When he was alive, even into his sixties, you hear of stories of other legendary pros stopping their practice to go and stand beside Moe hitting ball after ball… after ball.
A unique character, if people like Tom Watson call him the best ball striker ever, as well as Tiger, well those two knew a thing or to.
I seriously recommend reading a good biography of him, else just watch this vid if you haven’t already.
It’s part1 of 2, get a cuppa, but just listen to the sound of his strike time and again after hitting endless balls.
And Hew does a fab impression too, scary.
Mo is without doubt the greatest ball striker that ever lived. What he could do, no one else has come close to.
Some of his stats are incredible, 3 rounds of 59, OOB once in 50 years. More holes in one than anyone ever came near. He hit over 5 million golf balls.
My favourite though is when he was leading a PGA event by two shots, he was bored as he quite often got so approaching the 18th, final day, he purposely stuck his approach in the green side bunker, to see if he could get up and down and still win the tournament, obviously he did. Who else would do that? look him up if you haven’t already, the bartender’s story is the best. He’s different gravy.
Or when he went pitching wedge, driver on a first hole in a comp to “mix it up a little” and obviously made the par.
