Saturday Swindle (& Medal)
Tee’d of in tshirts with fantastic Autumn sunshine on Saturday. It didnt last, and the forecasted rain came down on the 5th and 6th with a vengance. It abated for a while so we all saw the full 18 out but it was a cold long hack for those not getting on with wet gloves and the cold wind. Henk took the honours from Al ‘new clubs’ Savs by one, with yours truely propping up the rear.
In the matches front, Al Savs took Peter “The Irish Sniper” to task winning 6&5.
Lee “All hail…” had a titanic day, putting in a nett 71 (and coming 3rd) the Medal in the morning, before taking on Brian “The Yeti” Chamberlain in the afternoon in the Swindle Knockout. It went to the 20th hole, as spookily foretold by Brian on the 3rd hole. Brian missed a couple of cheeky ones to win before Mr Feasey (all hail etc etc) coming out on top on the 20th hole.
Sunday Medal
Tshirts and a warm, fantastic mid Autumn afternoon. Heavy overnight dew meant the rough was wet and clingy so this and some still firm bounces meant the scores weren’t low as expected. Speaking of t-shirts, we had the pleasure of seeing Ryder Cup besties Phil and Simon turn up with their new shiny Glenagles t-shirts. Very nice.
Scottie Yule grabbed the lowest gross round with 74, whilst a certain Mr Colin Town took the overall win with a gross 90 returning a nett 66, pipping Daryl by one. James Murtagh came third, Scottie fourth, Jezza and Wayne 6th and 7th respectively.
Well done Colin!!
Some good golf with a few lucky bounces for your personal best 90!!!
Good cut, just before Portugal, muppet!!!!
