Match report

On a very rare beautiful morning a very friendly but competitive match took place between the Early Birds and Bobs Bashers. Unusually the Early Birds were very light on availability with Mass falling of his bike during training for a London – Paris ride the day before but Skipper Stu Simmonds stepped in at the last minute to make up the 12 – this was in spite of a eye watering hospital visit the day before – you ask him!

The pairs went very much the Early Birds way with only the Family match (Gormans v Carters) resulting in a half – so at the half way stage the EBs were sitting on a 7-1 lead.

Bob’s singles players came to the rescue and made up the ground only for Sunil to edge his match and pull his team over the winning line.

So another tight game, the Early Birds have a 2 – 1 winning record with 3 close games, Bobs Bashers get their first reverse but still have a healthy points score. All to play for next time out!
