Mail on Sunday Round1 Win for Surrey National

2 February, 2013 by Hew Leave a Comment

On a bright cold Winter day, this morning the Surrey National team turned out for an away match against Woldingham in Round1 of the Mail on Sunday 5’s competition.  The draw and short window in which to play the match meant that it just so happened that the available team was made up of Swashbucklers… Sean captained, with Denzil, Lee, Jim and Hew.

In a team of 5 players, the format was matchplay in head-to-head 2balls.  Games were all competitive and held in good nature with the Surrey National team going through taking 3 out of the 5 games with wins going to Sean, Jim and Hew.  A good result as last year, Woldingham went through to the end of the regional part of the comp and ended up being the last team in Surrey playing the last team in Kent.   Good game from all and thanks to the Woldingham guys for the food  afterwards.
