Saturday
Cold and heavy drizzle/rain most of Saturday but it was still pretty playable. A few of the Swashies out in the comp did well, but we did have a healthy Swindle of 16 turn out for a good round of golf, albeit in challenging conditions.
Young Peter took the overall with 34 I believe. Very well done Pete. A mildly chuntering Mr R Blake was runner up with 33. Oh what could’ve been Ritche.
He was being bought down to earth after celebrating like he’d won a major after he sunk a 15footer on the 17th in our Blake/Janine vs. Mushi/me fourball… helped by a raucous Janine Adams laugh or two along the way.
So a good Swindle day on Saturday despite the weather and roll on Sunday and the Comp. Oh and a certain Arsenal surprised everyone by sneaking two past the ‘mighty Spurs’ at the Emeriates. Tidy, eh Mr Betts x2.
Before we move on to Sunday, let us pause for a moment on the fortunes of a certain Mr Graham “I’ve read the manual 20times” Adams. An extremely proud owner of the faaaaanastic Stewarts “follow me” leccie trollley, the machine itself did at one point on Saturday decide to do it’s own thing. Captured in HD by somone in his fourball, a certain shy and retiring Mr Graham Loveless, it took literally seconds in the clubhouse later for Mr Adams’ blushes to be shared around.
Mr Graham Loveless will be extremely keen to provide anyone with the full story of how this, a top of the range trolley, ended up in the bunker… pass half a Doombar under his nose and settle in…
Sunday
Ian “I want to be cut honest” Fowler somewhat sheepishly smashed the weekend with a very impressive 46pts on Sunday. A well deserved cut was certainly in the offering, though Master Scoreboard certainly stood up to the task when I checked Sunday evening returning Ian on 13.7 (down from 22). Yowcherz!
I’ve posted this Sunday evening – and as a result of a slight admin error I think this will be amended slightly next week. Banter aside mate, a great round, very well played!
A certain M Wheddon (Capt) pushed himself into the overall standings in the weekend with a solid 38pts for 3rd overall – how he’s managed to nick a cut to 12.5 and not one point below I dunno.
Turkey Trot next weekend
Hasn’t been much from the club about next weekend, but I hope everyone is aware that next weekend is the Turkey Trot. 18 hole team scramble followed by the annual prize giving. Do please sort teams if you havent already – its a great day and poke each other to arrange drinks/nibbles on the way round… its historically a pretty slow round. Jaggsy Award goes to anyone lazier than him who was allocated the sandwiches in our team and only just remembered to stop at a garage on the way last year.
All the best Daisy
Daisy Macve, if people aren’t aware already, flew to Australia Sunday evening to work up with Gary “Right Sided” Edwin in getting fully accredited in coaching terms and more importantly have a fantastic time playing/working/living it up on the other side of the world. Very jealous Daise.
Get well soon Dan
A Swashie has been in the wars recently, so a massive get well soon to Dan TullyMonster. Serious back problems recently for the old boy, fingers crossed it all comes good soon. Sounds like it could be a wee while but hope it gets sorted.
And finally, get well soon Colin (posted on behalf of Phil)
