Felix takes Sunday Stableford

4 July, 2016 by Hew Leave a Comment

showerMixed bag over the weekend,  warm sun and heavy showers on Saturday, overcast, bright and sunny on Sunday.

Saturday

Stableford weekend so we only had 9 in the Swindle on Saturday.  RitchieBandit taking it with 31.  Colin did well taking longest drive and pin and front nine just missing out on the overall as he and Assif called it after the 15th when the heavens opened.

Greens flooded and understandably it looked grim but 15mins later and things cleared up.  The sun came out and greens drained.

Bit light on Swindlers in the top10 in the competition on Saturday, Simon (Christian) sneaking in 10th with a very steady 35 points.  And well done Jay Mass returning lowest gross – playing well mate.

Sunday

A very slow competition on Sunday was a bit disappointing for everyone.  We had the better weather at least.  We had a good group, and we watched Felix “Oh I’ve not swung a club for a month” Savedra rip it up.

Back-to-back birdies on the 2nd and 3rd, sticking a 5iron approach into the par5 12th to 3foot for his first eagle around Surrey National, and then following it up on the 13th almost pitching it in, hitting the pin and spinning back 5feet.  Great play – he won with 41points and got cut 2shots down to 8.

Mr “16pts on Saturday, 36 on Sunday” Adams was happy to hear that Felix wasn’t in the fivers and gracefully stood a round for everyone.  Thanks Graham.
