Graham “CC-he loves an audience” Loveless stepped up to say some nice words on behalf of the Swindle.
A day of highs and lows. For both 1) the weather (rain then sun), and for both having a Swindle drink…. whilst saying cheerio (for now) to Denzil and Tee. A few good words from Graham L (several in fact), and we all raised a glass – Jerry probably raised all 3 of the blurry glasses he though he was holding in his hand at the time – but we were all there wishing Denzil and Teresa all the very best as they head out for their move to Spain.
They are playing next weekend, so if you are about that will actually be their last Swindle for a while.
Quite a few of the Swindle were out in the Stableford comp in the morning. Waving various mobile phone weather reports around, we had rain from 8.15 to about 11am! Good old British summer. Afraid the pace wasn’t very good upfront, so our two-balls of myself and Bryan, Teresa and Sharon joined up on the 6th which probably helped things on the front9, but did slow up the speedy Stevie Mc, Simon and Lee 3ball behind us on the back9.
Bryan and I both played well on the front9 with 21 points, but Bryan kept it all going on the back with a couple of nice 4pointers to return a fantastic 40points. My front was helped with a 9iron eagle on the 4th and a chip in on the 6th which to be honest masked some average scoring. If someone writes a book for how to putt with a hangover, sign me up for it.
Bryan was clubhouse leader until the back of the field when Jim came in with a even par back 9. Holing a stinky 6footer on the last for a par, he recorded 40points as well but confirmed the overall win on countback. Just checked MasterscoreBoard, and see that David Jackson also had a stormer and came in with 40points which included 7 birdies off a handicap of 1. Blimey.
Great scoring didnt stop there with our own AllanGollampost coming in with 39points and Ben Greenhalgh coming in with the same (off of 3). So, 3 Swindlder in top4! Nice.

Ladies starting to hammer the fizz, before Abba took over
Swindle faces old, new and partners all gathered for a few drinks as the sun came out. Nice to see Grant looking well, and Junior Savill was on parade as she was happily passed around everyone. (Its a ‘her’ Colin, not an ‘it’). Thanks to D&Tee for laying on nibbles and buying everyone a drink, much appreciated by all.
I wasn’t around for too long in the afternoon, but no doubt photographic evidence will confirm everyone had a great time. (Did anyone make sure Jerry got home?)

Speech! Denzil, speech!
No doubt we will be seeing them both when they return to see family and friends, though from what I gather they are going to see a bundle of people in course course as they go out to visit them in Spain.
