Pic from Wayne showing a chuffed Dave on the 13th
Hot and sticky day for the Blue Bogey on Saturday. Course in good nick, greens still very good. A golfing major at Surrey National, the format is matchplay against the course off the blue tees. More a fun comp, as for me it suits the slightly higher handicaps who can play within their handicap and every par is one up on the course.
We were out as a two-ball and a couple short putts got away from Richie but he ground it back to end with a par and finished only one down on the course. I had a steady round – just the 16th and 18th let me down to finish two down.
Overall scores were jsut steady – lots of evens or one downs… Ross was clubhouse leader on 2up for most of the morning as groups came in. However the day was taken by Kev Perry who returned a fantastic 7up on the course! (7up, blimey) Well done Kev, and good timing as there isn’t a handicap adjustment on the day either.
The other winner on the day was Dave Francis who managed a hole in one on the 13th. May well have been his first (not sure), but well done… and I trust the bottle of cognac set up to share around was severely dented.
Well done Kev and congrats to Dave.
