Dave brightens up Autumn Swindle

17 November, 2014 by Hew Leave a Comment

Weekend promised buckets of rain Saturday and Sunday quite reasonable.  We actually got away with two days of fairly decent Autumn golf with only a couple of brief showers on Saturday causing us to drag wet weather gear out.  Under ground was quite sodden given the rain during the week and Friday night so bunkers were out.

Saturday Swindle

Saturday was a decent Swindle with The Originals out early ‘doing a job’ on the Early Birds.  Good numbers saw Winkle and James Murtagh share the honours with 35 I think – good scoring given the conditions.

So Lee’s how are your feet looking?

Before I forget, I was specifically asked to explain Lee’s disappearance from Saturday.  A slow round meant he had to shoot off before he could finish as he had a pedicure appointment to keep.  Important to have the toesies all smart and shiny in the Maldives mate.  Hope the nail polish didn’t smudge.

Sunday Swindle

The grey day was lifted significantly with Dave’s arrival in his fantastically yellow jumper. Sean was  determined to track down Dave’s looky-likey and we found a certain Mr Arnold Palmer who fitted quite nicely.

On Sunday, the scoring increased significantly – Phil scooping the honours with 39 and a gaggle of hopefuls behind including  Mushi on 38, with a few 37’s and 36’s as well.

Jaggsy was finding new parts of the course off the tee. Apparently, hitting the 11th fairway off the 15th was especially impressive.
