Sunday 9th June saw Surrey National host the return home match against Reigate Hill in the Surrey Hills League. We needed to follow up an impressive 2-hole away winning margin with a strong home performance and a bright, overcast, windy day saw the 10man team feature 3 Swashbucklers. Team on the day was Shaun & Robert, Hew & Phil, John V & David, Andy G &Stuart S and Steve Mc & Gareth.
We won most matches, with Stevie Mc and Gareth narrowly going down but only by 1 hole. We won by 9 making it a great overall result – all holes are won by a point (1pt win, 1/2 each on a halved hole). A team winning by 5 at home is a target to aim for and the away result winning by two puts us in a great position. Phil takes the glory on the 18th (in our match at least) by knocking in a 20foot putt for par securing a win by two after our opponents were fighting back to half the match. Nice.
Below is how we performed last year against the other clubs so its good progress. Roll next game on 23rd.
