Have received the following email from David Ogram with regard to having a Charity Golf Day in memory of Grant Adley.
What he wants to know before going ahead with the day is the likely numbers. If you would like to attend could you please let me know can make the two possible dates. (22nd / 29th September). I will then forward to David our numbers. Please let me know by 15th May. (Bob mcnally123@btinternet.com)
At our last meeting of TMWGS we agreed that we should try and arrange a memorial golf / charity day in memory of Grant.
I have approached Caroline at Surrey National and two possible dates in September emerged; Friday September 22nd and 29th. I would like to think that we could get a minimum of 15 members of our society to such and event and I am copying this note to Bob McNally at Surrey National who knows the guys that Grant regularly played with at weekends. He will try and gauge the likely attendance from those guys. I feel we need a minimum of 25 to make such an event an appropriate recognition of our friendship with Grant.
Surrey National would charge us £38 for bacon roll, 18 holes of golf and a 2 course meal. SNGC members cost would be £14. However in order to raise a decent amount for Brompton Hospital I think we should charge £50 for non members and £26 for SNGC members. We can, of course enhance the fundraising with raffles and other donations.
I will try and gauge TMWGS interest at Pyrford on Thursday and hopefully Bob can begin the process of gauging interest at SNGC.
