Saturday was a non-starter for golf on the morning of the Captains Cup. Well, it was a starter for a few groups, but as the hooter sounded to cancel it due to the rain and course conditions, groups were already coming in confirming greens unplayable. Kudos to Sunil’s group who persevered for 9holes determined to eek out some Saturday morning golf.

Clubhouse, checking weather reports and ordering breakfasts
Busy clubhouse, so a good morning for a bit of social if nothing else. Swashies did have 5 (and then 6) who headed out later in the morning. They reported that whilst few early greens were waterlogged the course soon drained and they had a half decent round.
Sunday Swindle
With the weather much much improved, Sunday saw the Swashies have a decent turnout with 24 odd in the bet. Wouldn’t you know that a certain M Wheddon decides to play a blinder on the day to take home the readies with a very impressive 39pts.
Well done the Winkle… although hearing from your playing partners a consistent flow of negative comments after every one of your shots could certainly be looked at. 🙂
Club Diary
You may have noticed a new menu item ‘2019/20 Diary‘. This is a quick PDF viewer of the latest club diary. It has been updated to remove the blank pages the club had left in.
Please note that this is just for quick reference and is unofficial so obviously subject to change. Double-check with the club all dates if using it for events or planning for competitions.
