Camberly Heath Golf Club today on the Surrey Chamber of Commerce golf rota. Mr Loveless was “working” at the British Masters enjoying the day it seems from the Whatsapp pictures and Mr Adams appears to have been part of the pro-am playing with a certain Lee Westwood! Very nice for both Grahams.
We had a great day, a cracking course, easily in the top100 in England and is setup in a way I’m sure the Addington would love to be. Large comfortable modern clubhouse, fantastic heathland and pine forest layout and a very interesting, if not too long, course in great nick.
Winkle, Philip, Simon and myself battled through the horrendous traffic and started out at half ten in the slightly chilly overcast autumn morning. Harry S Colt designed course, the course was fairly generous off the tee but lined with chestnuts and pine trees… greens very quick given the recent and overnight rain.
Simon didn’t have his best day wearing his new varifocal contact lenses… and didn’t have much luck all day. We had a good pairs match ending up all square on the last. After a nice dinner we were in line for some prizes. Winkle came 3rd in the guests comp with 35. In the members comp, Philip was 3rd with 35 and I sneaked a 2nd with 38 losing out by only one measly point. *cough* to a 25 handicapper, mumble grumble. A great day of autumn golf.
