A hard fought victory after 22 holes, which contained some superb golf and some real gaffs by both teams !!
The match started with a complete mix up on the first green where our competitors from Mitcham miscounted their shots and basically gifted us the first hole!! However in the sprit of fair play we decided to call the ...

Shock news: Jezza “Guiness please” seen drinking a coke after golf
Glorious weekend of bright sunshine. Saturday was a bit breezy, Sunday clouded over towards the end of the afternoon - but an absolute cracker for golf.
I think the big news of the weekend was Sean and Tracey taking the mixed winter pairs comp on Sunday against Bronwen and Dennis. I believe it was won on the 18th, I'd ask Sean to send over a few ...

Reminder: Golf insurance
With ol Denzil getting bopped on the bonce last weekend, it's worth reminding the Swindle that golf insurance is a good idea.
Most policies will cover personal liability, theft of clubs, even travel insurance and hole-in-one costs.
You are basically responsible for the golf ball whenever you hit it. If kids are around the green and you hit them, ...

Match Report – Originals edge out Early Birds
Posted on behalf of Captain Assig
Editorial control deferred to me as the email was led with "Hi Huge. This report sent under the influence of a couple of beverages"
The day started with a surprise, as Pamela was with Brian as he picked me up from home at 07.00. A cunning plan on Brian's behalf as I then knew the day would end in a mess... Good ...

Posted on behalf of Mr Wheddon
On a day where the weather seemed to go through all four seasons, we played our last group match against Bob's Bashers.

So to the matches. There were plenty of players available to ...

Banned 6 Nations Rugby Advert
Urgh, I feel unclean after visiting the Daily Mail website but its probably a good source to see why this fantastic advert was banned. Scottish Mick showed me this in the pub last week - boggles me why this wasn't broadcast.
It was banned apparently for being "unsupportive" of the England rugby team but then ...

Don’t Forget – Please sponsor Lee
Posted on behalf of Lee "All Hail" Feasey
I am once again running the London Marathon, another grueling 26.6miles. I am running in memory of Ron Feasey (grandad) and raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
After running it last year and coming in with a time of 4:29:58
I feel that with a little more training I can beat the 4 hour mark. Last ...

James and Jaggsy fight for top spot
A glorious spring Sunday saw Messrs. Murtagh and Jaggs fight for top spot in the Sunday Stableford. 18 and 21 front and back nine's for them both, a cracking finish saw James take the comp winning on countback.
6 out of the top 10 featured Swashbucklers ... but we also made up 7 out of the bottom 10! Al Savs pinched more leading Merit points ...

Charity Day Report from Captain Loveless
Posted on behalf of Captain CC Bandito Loveless
A formal update for the Charity Day will be posted up onto the charity day website but I have put together a more personal note from ‘The Captain’ for the Swashbucklers site on the charity day.
Many of you will not be aware but the planning for this year’s day started back in August and it really ...
