Matt Strong had the idea earlier this year to have a ‘Celebration Day’ to cover a whole host of events. We’ve had 30ths, 40ths, 50ths and 60ths. Graham Loveless handed over from his successful year of captaincy to Sean and Stevie Mac moved out of home.
Not everyone could be around on these individual days so it made sense to have a day put aside to have a few drinks, hopefully enjoy a nice group day at the club with friends and family and the Blue Bogey day was the ideal day. Made all the more relevant as we celebrated Winkle taking the title of the day. So amongst major winners this year (yes, and you Mark) and including Bryon Cup winner Mr Snashers we, as a collective Swindle, scooped top 1 and 2 in the Inter Swindle Ryder Cup. No prisoners indeed!
Mr Strong led the day with a nice speech, I chipped in with some numbers (as we all like them don’t we) and it all went off very well.
Special thanks to Pam who did the liaising with the club to arrange the BBQ.
The club did a great job with the spread – all positive feedback so again, good job!
Weather held despite a brief shower but by then the bar was being well and truely hogged by the Swindle.
“Thats Savill without the E Hew, CHANGE IT”
*small voice* Ok, Hannah right away Hannah
Also thanks to the Shirley’s who bought their Swedish “Kubb” game which entertained everyone for about 3hours as we tried to figure out the rules however Linda did a great job keeping things moving along. Oh and the boys won despite late heckling/disruption by Mrs Savill.
And yes, Al, your surname has been fixed
