With his upcoming marriage, Mr Alan “Guns” Saville was celebrating a part1 stag day at Lingfield races on Good Friday 18th April. (Part2 being a big beano to Marbella) The first race day on Good Friday at Lingfield (and Musselborough apparently) saw over 7k people turn up and enjoy the event.
The day started at 8am with a cheeky Swindle 18holes. I managed to sneak a win with a surprising 39 points. (I was the most surprised). Quick shower and pint later, several of us were whistled up and jumped in a cab to meet Al, best men Strongbow and Jaggs and a bunch of Al’s family and mates at Lingfield. A bus had been arranged for the main group picking up from Stoneliegh and Caterham and we all met somehow by the Pims and Fosters tents at Lingfield.
A cracking day, albeit very busy at Lingfield. We had a few winners amongst us. Jerry (and son, Ian) came out pretty well, and a hossie announced as Captain C… was backed by a number of us as Mr Graham “CC” Loveless being present it seemed pretty apt.
We all piled into the bus at the end of the races, Caterham lot enjoying a few more drinks and a Chinese. The rest of us headed to Epsom for drinks with a few hardy souls continuing long into the night. A great day for Al, and big thanks for Mr Stong and Jaggs doing the organising. (and Mr Macve for helping sort transportation from the club to Lingfield).
