CC was full of confidence as well he should have been having beaten me in some minor club matchplay in the summer. Cant remember which one, still I think he had a hand.
Claiming 6 shots (well he didn’t get the CC nick name for no reason) and going 3 up quickly having not used one of his shots, CC was positively ecstatic at repeating his summer performance.
Neither side had hit a bad shot, and just a little mistake was going to be punished. Sadly however come the 4th CC’s game began to unravel as the fog lifted and his three shot lead began to erode leaving the game evenly balanced by the 9th.
By the 11th my lead was established and CC was reeling under the pressure but was helped by your truly playing the wrong ball on the 12 to level up the match again. 13th saw my lead re established and then extended on the 14th. If CC didn’t do something on the 16th he was toast. Digging in he won the 16th and using his last shot manged to win the 18th to take the game into extra holes. His aim was to survive until the 4th where he had another shot, but sadly the 3rd was his last. Well played Graham C hugely enjoyable here’s to the re match.
Macca next, 9 shots he tells me, didn’t realise he was playing off of 3.
