Most weekend Swindles will go by without a blog post, but worth popping a few lines down from today. Just 7 or 8 degrees today tops, damp, with the odd spot of rain, and a strong wind driving down the temperature even lower. Woolly hats and layers back on.
We knew from the day before that the greens were rolling very well despite the wet conditions and the rough remained quite wet and thick. We even played the bunkers in play despite most being quite manky and unraked.
Scottie and I turned in a steady 35points (off 2 and 4 respectively), which on most days may have been in with a shout. Scotty was steady as usual, 17/18, and after a ropey front 9 of 14pts, I nicked 21pts on the back and was thinking that may mean an extra nan bread from some back9 winnings… perhaps.
First Paul G wanders in with 38points. Top golf Mr Gilbody, but he was shaking his head on the congratulations. In then slopes Mr G. Adams… with a certain swagger and knowing ‘innocence’.
43points Graham!!! Have a word someone. 4 over gross is a fantastic score, never mind the cold, damp conditions. Apparently anything from 10-15 feet or more was sunk time and time again. He halved with Tony on the front but deservedly scooped the back9 with 22pts and the overall. In their match, Mushi and Jez did well to only lose 8&6 against Graham and Paul!
Top golf in challenging conditions Mr Adams, well played
